Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is a program of the Promotion of Work, the Department of State of the United States and the American Consulate in which 30 women entrepreneurs have been able to participate. AWE consists of 4 strands: online training by the University of Arizona Thunderbird School of Business, face-to-face Masterclasses, inspirational sessions and the opportunity to be part of the global AWE network with connections around the world .

With the aim of getting to know in more detail the different business projects of the program, from the magazine “F de Foment i Fepime” we will bring you first-hand the profiles of the businesswomen who have been part of the first edition of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs through interviews with different professionals.

We share the interview with Cristina Sánchez, founder and CEO of Juno Projects published in La Revista Foment:

What project did you submit to be part of the AWE program?

Juno Projects is a personnel selection and outsourcing agency based on female talent. We specialize in technological and digital profiles, but we serve all kinds of companies that need to incorporate talent into their teams. The idea to create Juno Projects came when I became a mother for the first time. I am a technical engineer and MBA from EADA with a professional career in Spain and also in Australia, but when I became a mother, I realized the difficulty of growing a professional career at the same time as a family. This fact continues to be more evident for women, who face many obstacles to occupy senior management positions.

The purpose of Juno Projects is to help companies diversify their teams by bringing in more female talent. He thinks that companies with diverse teams generate 25 to 36% higher profits than more homogeneous companies.

So, we make more women find a work solution in the present while supporting their growth so that they end up becoming the directives of the future.

Of the four axes of the program, which has helped you the most to move forward with your project?

The Masterclasses have been very valuable. Having such powerful figures within the entrepreneurial ecosystem who have shared their experience and knowledge with us has been very enriching.
